Magazine Publication

The Rambles, Rants, and Writings Magazine is a new venture of mine.  The idea came about when I asked for Father Themed poetry submissions, this month with Father's day in mind.  I really enjoyed reading the poetry, writing my own, and creating a newsletter document from it.  I was looking at newsletter templates and was prompted to add an issue number, and I put 1.  It made me realise that I don't have to stop here, I could produce further publications on a quarterly basis and put them together into a small quarterly magazine - the number of submissions will determine the size.  Start small but aim high!

The publication itself will be themed around writing.  It will include informational material like 'How to...' articles, and it will also feature interviews/profiles on an Author/Writer.  Each quarter will be themed.

I have already published newsletter, but this wasn't actually planned and I only had a few weeks to gather the material together, so the planned launch of this new magazine will be 1st September 2015.

The theme for the September edition is Crime, so I will be looking for crime related articles, reviews (TV, Film, fiction, etc...), interviews, and prose or poetry.

Deadlines for submissions into the first edition is 10th August 2015, at Midnight.

Prose should be no longer than 1000 words.
Poems should be no longer than 20 lines long.
Both should be sent to janetcoopercw@gmail.com and your email heading should state 'Magazine September 2015' then either 'Prose submission' or 'Poetry submission'.

If you want to submit an article, review, interview or anything similar, then please email me first with your idea at janetcoopercw@gmail.com with your idea and I will be happy to let you know if that's something that would be of interest.  I expect articles, reviews and interviews to be around 500-1000 words long.

All authors/writers should include a brief bio of themselves to be included in the magazine, acknowledging their work.

Some Rules and Guidance
All work must be the writer/authors own work and will be checked for plagiarism.  If you link to the work of other people, then you would be expected to acknowledge their work by referencing accordingly.  I cannot tolerate breaches of this on any level so work would automatically be returned and refused.

Further Information
If your submission is successful, you will be informed by email prior to publication, by midnight on August 15th 2015 at the latest.

The magazine will be available for all to view for free online.  No money will be paid for submissions, but it is a way to showcase your writing skills and you can link to your published work in the magazine, in which you will be acknowledged for your work.

If you want to view the first publication of a Newsletter then you should review my Father Themed poetry post on the 13th June 2015.

If you want to read how my idea for publishing an online magazine came about, then you should read my blog post Review of Celebrating Fathers Week.

The winner of the Crime Fiction short story competition I am currently running will also feature in this first edition.

If you would be interested in advertising in the magazine for a small fee, or if you have any other magazine related queries, please email Janet at janetcoopercw@gmail.com
